什麼是海扶刀（HIFU）？ 「海扶刀」是｢高強度聚焦超音波 (High-intensity focused ultrasound)｣ 的譯稱，它是一種無創手術。主要原理類似於太陽光可以通過凸透鏡聚焦一樣，安全地穿透身體。

朱古力瘤的正確學名為卵巢子宮內膜異位性囊腫，是子宮內膜異位症的其中一種。  正常的子宮內膜細胞生長在子宮內壁，每個周期脫落經陰道排出體外形成月經。

腹腔鏡檢查是利用管形的腹腔鏡和儀器，通過腹部的小切口，直接檢視盆腔、子宮外壁、輸卵管及卵巢的情況，屬於微創手術。而腹腔鏡手術通常是通過臍帶引入腹腔鏡，並通過穿過腹部以單口或幾個小孔進行手術。
